My Head Is Spinning-Day 1

It was a whirlwind weekend in Houston at the Fall International Quilt Market. There was so much anticipation leading up to it and now it's all over in a blink. My head is just spinning at all the new fabrics, patterns and products I saw. Not to mention all the fabulous people I met and saw again. While it was a little hard on the husband and kids, it sure was a needed little break for me.
I arrived early Friday afternoon, after a very early and long flight. I didn't know how I was going to make it through the rest of the day. I met my good pals Jonah and Myrinda at the airport and off we went. First stop: Schoolhouse Series. We got there right in time to listen to Kathy Miller, Patty Young and Paula Prass speak about their new lines and all that is new with Michael Miller Fabrics.
Then we were off to the Fabric 2.0 Meet and Greet hosted by Caroline DeVoy of J. Caroline Creative, Kathy Miller, Lissa Alexander of Moda Fabrics and Christina Batch-Lee of Etsy. It was a fun night of schmoozing, laughing and eating.

After the party, we were off to the Sample Spree. Can I just say, "Pure craziness!!" We had gotten there a little late, so I guess things had quieted down a bit, but you couldn't tell. I can only imagine what it was like when the doors opened! There were ladies with bags full of loot! Some even had to drag them because they had so much stuff! By this time, I was so pooped, I didn't even buy anything. That's ok. I made up for it in the next three days.

That's it for now. I'll be back to tell the tales of the rest of the weekend. And stay tuned for some fun little bloggy Quilt Market giveaways!
